Chives

Chives comes from the onion family (alliums) which is highly valued for flavoring. In Latin, the name unio for alliums means "one large pearl" and Chinese name for alliums means "jewel among vegetables". Chives are native to China.

Besides being edible, chives look very attractive as ornamental plants and can be used as edging in borders or flower and herbal beds. Chives also thrives in containers, its flowers are really pretty but cut them off if you want better leaf production.
