Prickly Pear
Native to Florida, this cactus is hardly ever cultivated since it's said to still be abundant in nature. Blooms in spring and later produces large, edible, fleshy, seeded berries.

Five days later: Prickly pear on April 8, 2007. It has 13 buds! =)


Ten days later: Prickly pear on April 18, 2007. The first bud is changing
color...


And next day, finally - the first gorgeous yellow bloom! =) Prickly pear on April 19, 2007.
